FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Under federal law, an 80% frame or receiver is not classified as a firearm until it has reached a certain stage of completion. However, recent ATF rule changes have altered definitions, and some products may now be considered firearms. Always check current regulations.
No FFL is required to purchase an 80% frame or receiver since it is not considered a firearm at the time of sale. However, you may need to involve an FFL for serialization after purchase depending on current regulations and your state laws.
For polymer frames: typically a drill press or hand drill, router or Dremel tool, and appropriate drill bits/jigs. For metal receivers: a drill press or milling machine is recommended. We offer detailed guides and recommended tool lists for each product.
We use automated geofencing to block sales to states and localities where 80% frames/receivers are restricted or banned. During checkout, our system will verify your location. It is ultimately your responsibility to know and comply with your local laws.
We do not serialize frames/receivers as they are sold as unfinished products. If serialization is required by law in your jurisdiction, you must take the completed firearm to a licensed FFL who can engrave a serial number in compliance with ATF regulations.
Unfinished frames and receivers may be returned within 30 days if unmodified and in original packaging. Once any machining or modification has begun, the product cannot be returned due to federal regulations regarding altered frames/receivers.
